Public Safety: ALL Constituents Matter
Crime is out of control in Los Angeles County. As your Los Angles County Supervisor representing District 2 my top priority will focus on improving Public Safety for all constituents. Business owners are suffering due to "smash & grab" robberies. Jails and sidewalks aren't the safest alternatives for the unhoused. Too many LA County residents don't feel safe in their communities due to the rise in crime. Going to the grocery store shouldn't cost $2,381.00 because someone decides to steal your catalytic converter. Enough is enough! I am committed to partnering with District 2 constituents, all LA County law enforcement agencies and homeless prevention organizations to collaboratively improve public safety.

Reimagining Law Enforcement: Building Bridges in the Community
There isn't one current LA County Board of Supervisor member who fought for law enforcement reform like I did during the 2020 protest. In the midst of one of the most volatile civil unrest movements in American history, I worked side by side with law enforcement chiefs to establish reimagined partnerships during the George Floyd protest. These agencies included the Los Angeles School Police, LAPD, California Highway Patrol and the LAX Police Department. From the top of the command chain beginning with the Chiefs of Police to the patrol officers and deputies I have experience and success with re-establishing new relationships with law enforcement agencies serving Los Angeles county. My proven success was accomplished by hosting cultural sensitivity summits and de-escalation training sessions in a safe environment for students, parents, teachers, and community members. It didn't matter if a constituent wanted to defund the police or support the police, all voices were heard with respect for each others opinions.

Homelessness: Mental Health & Drug Addiction
I am the proud daughter of parents who suffered with drug addiction. Mental health and drug addiction are among the leading causes of homelessness in Los Angeles County. My mother managed to keep her job, achieve sobriety and retire from the Los Angeles County Public Health Department. Unfortunately, for my father the birth of the crack epidemic took over his life. Continuous stints in jail, unemployed and the loss of my brother to gang violence created a drug addicted mental health state of mind my father battled everyday. But through it all our family made sure he wasn't sleeping on the streets or in his car. We worked together to provide resources to prevent his homelessness. I have the life experience to provide strategies and solutions to combat drug addiction and the mental health crisis in Los Angeles County. Let's do this together!

Elder Care: A Heart for our Elders
Advocating for the health and welfare of our senior citizens will be a priority. My grandmother is 97 years old and I'm her primary caregiver. The struggle is REAL! Many of our seniors are living longer and don't have access to the affordable health and elder care they deserve. Some of our elders don't have family members to care for them while those who have caregivers struggle with the financial burden to pay for the services needed. The predatory reverse mortgage loan business has decimated the generational wealth and home equity of thousands of families. According to the National Council on Aging, older adults with the lowest net wealth were the hardest hit, irrespective of age or retirement status, and would require the most aid from government benefits and economic solutions. As your LA County Supervisor I will take care of District 2 with the same heart and love that I give my beautiful and blessed grandmother, a Los Angeles County resident for over 70 years.
